The Counter, Miracle Mile

5779 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles CA 90036, (323) 932 8900
Hours: 11am-11pm Monday-Thursday, 11am-12 midnight Friday-Saturday and 11am-10pm Sunday

I went for the Old School burger at The Counter on Miracle Mile instead of building my own custom-built one, This had a 1/3 pound of beef, Tillamook cheddar cheese, pickles, onions, lettuce and tomato. Plus a yummy spiced up tomato and red relish.

I had heard such positive reviews about The Counter I persuaded a friend of mine to try it after we went out to a cocktail party with dancing Saturday night. And it mostly lived up to the hype. The service was quick, friendly and knowledgeable. Then there was the menu! They offer you a checklist so you can put pretty much anything you want on your burger starting with your patty: turkey, beef, veggie, chicken or market selection – whatever that is.

Then there the cheese options. Anything from gruyere to cheddar to jalapeno jack to soft ripened brie. You are allowed to pick four toppings for your burger. If you pay a buck extra you can have premium toppings including avocado, fried egg, smoked bacon and housemade guacamole to name a few. Then you pick your sauce and your bun. Check out the full build-your-burger menu to be overwhelmed by the choices.

I was so I picked the basic cheeseburger called Old School. We also go chili cheese fries, below, and iced tea.

Chili Cheese Fries at The Counter on Miracle Mile. The chili is really good but it is way too much for two girls to share. We both ate as much as we could and about half of it was leftover. You need a man-sized appetite or perhaps a few more people to polish this thing off!
