Sugar-Free Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies taste incredibly sweet but there is no sugar in them!

What you need

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

3/4 tsp salt

1/2 cup applesauce, drained

1 cup packed Splenda brown sugar

1/4 cup butter, softened

1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

1 large egg

1 cup dark chocolate, bittersweet

1/2 cup chopped toasted pecans

What you do

1 Preheat oven to 345 degrees

2 Lightly spoon flour into measuring cups, level with a knife. Mix with salt and baking soda in a small bowl

3 Put the applesauce in a sieve and let drain for 15 minutes. Discard the juice.

4 Add applesauce to butter and sugar. Mix until with a beater until light and fluffy.

5 Add the flour mixture.

6 Add the vanilla extract and egg

7 Add chocolate chips and chopped nuts

8 Drop by level tablespoon onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment or sprayed with baking spray.

9 Bake at 375 for 10 minutes. Let cool on the pan for 2 minutes until they set. Remove cookies from pan and cool on wire rack.

10. Yields 4 dozen cookies.
