This recipe for Tiramimousse is from the Cooking With Trader Joe's cookbook by Deana Gunn and Wona Miniati. It's quick and delicious!

What you need

2 (3.5 oz ) bars dark bittersweet chocolate such as Valrhona 71% Cacao

4 oz mascarpone cheese

1 pint (2 cups) heavy cream or heavy whipping cream

2 tsp instant coffee dissolved in 4 tbsp hot water

2 tbsp Marsala wine


What you do:

1) Microwave chocolate to melt it. Break up the chocolate bars into squares and place into a small Pyrex bowl. Microwave for 1 minute and stir. Repeat using 30-second intervals, stirring after every interval until fully melted and waiting a minute between intervals to let the heat of the bowl dissipate. Melting the two chocolate bars should take a total of two minutes. Be careful not to burn the chocolate.

2) Add mascarpone cheese, cream , coffee and wine to a blender, adding the melted chocolate last. Blend only until the mixture thickens – about 20 seconds. If you continue blending the cream will curdle and your guests will cry.

3) Spoon into individual cups and chill in the fridge. If you are leaving them for longer than a few hours or making the day before, cover with plastic wrap.

4) Serves 6 and will take about 10 minutes to make and two hours to chill.
