Surabhi’s Desi Turkey Sliders

These are the turkey sliders that Surabhi made.

These are the turkey sliders that Surabhi made for Raksha Bandan 2009.

Yields: 36 burgers

4 packages lean Jennie-O ground turkey
2 1/2 onions, finely diced
1/2 cup cilantro, finley diced
2 tablespoons Shan BBQ mix masala
1 cup of pureed onions, garlic, ginger and cilantro
2 tablespoons roasted cumin seeds
1 1/2 tablespoons each of ground cumin and ground coriander powder
1/2 cup of vegetable oil
1/4 cup of prepared mustard
2 splashes of Worcester sauce

Burger fixings:
1 package pre-sliced Havarti cheese
1 bunch Romaine lettuce
4 tomatoes
36 dinner or Kaiser rolls

1) Mix all the burger patty ingredients together.
2) Marinate for 4-5 hours.
3) Shape meat into patties small enough to fit onto the dinner rolls.
4) Grill or pan fry them over medium-high heat.
5) While the patties are cooking, slice your tomatoes, tear the lettuce to fit the small roll and cut pre-sliced Havarti sliced cheese into quarters.
6) Slice your 36 dinner rolls in half
7) Apply mayo to the top and bottom roll
8) Put the hot patty on the bottom half of the “bun”
9) Put the cheese on the patty
10) Place the lettuce and tomato on the bun
11) Top with the upper half of the “bun”
12) Skewer with a toothpick to hold it all together until they are served.
