Tip: How to blanch peaches

Blanching your fruit makes it super-easy to peel it before pitting and slicing the fruit for pies and anything else you need the fruit.

1. Start off with fresh peaches, a pot to boil water, a knife, and a bowl for your ice bath.

2. Score the peaches on the bottom.

3. Put the peaches in pot of boiling water for 1-2 minutes depending on the size of the peach. 20140720-112109.jpg

4. Pull out and immediately immerse into the ice water bath for 2 minutes or until skin is peeling back on the area you scored.

5. Peel fruit.
